Hi! I’m Hope Frost, and I’ve pretty much been active since the day I was born. What started as swim lessons and bike rides with my parents turned into competitive swimming and youth triathlon. By the age of 12, I was racing at the elite triathlon level and competing nationally. For years, triathlon was my identity — until, at 16, I realized I wanted to pursue collegiate running.
Through God’s goodness, I committed to Duke University, my dream school, to compete in cross country and track, and began my freshman year in 2021. Wearing the Duke uniform was everything I had worked for, but my time there wasn’t without hardships. I faced injuries, the relentless grind of balancing academics with athletics, and the pressures of performance that tested me mentally and physically. What I came to learn is that being a Division I athlete is as much about perseverance as it is about performance.
Some of my most meaningful growth came not from podium finishes, but from setbacks, rehab sessions, late-night studying, and showing up on days when it would have been easier to quit. Those seasons of challenge shaped me into more than just an athlete — they gave me resilience, perspective, and an appreciation for the process, not just the results.
Now, as I continue both my athletic and storytelling journeys, I carry those lessons with me. My story is one of chasing finish lines, yes, but also of discovering that identity, faith, and growth matter just as much as the races themselves.
